Laney had Mrs. Johnston for kindergarten (the same teacher Kelli had the year before). All of the girls she was friends with from church were in the afternoon class so she was bummed about that. Eventually she made friends with some of the girls and would always say that Abbey and Presley were here best friends. However, whenever we asked her what she did at school, it was always playing with the boys-JJ, Landon, Austin, and Preston.
Kelli's had two teachers for 1st grade-Mrs. LaFever at the first of the week and Mrs. Premo at the end of the week. She loved both of them for different reasons. She was excited at the first of the year because her best friend from kindergarten was in her class-Kayla. However, during the year they kind of grew apart and Kelli became best friends with a girl named Sam. In kindergarten, Kelli and Kayla were the two smallest girls. In first grade, they were still the smallest, but Sam was one of the tallest. She and Kelli hit it off as best friends because they both like doing the same things at recess.
Makayla's 4th grade teacher was Mrs. Khatchatoorian. Several of her friends were in her class, though at recess she still mostly just played with girls in 5th grade. They liked playing soccer and since that is Makayla's favorite sport, she loved it. Her teacher had a great book collection and Makayla always finished her work quickly so she was able to read a lot.
By the way, every year the girls beg me to buy different skirts and dresses for them for school. I give in, and they usually end up wearing them only a couple of times because it just doesn't fit their "active social life". They get in the air when playing soccer, running, and playing on the bars. Eventually I will learn my lesson...
