Our talents

I'm now on week 6 of my 10K training program. I'm happy to report that I'm still running! I thought for sure by now I would have wimped out (or just gotten too lazy). Last week I was able to register for my race (that isn't until mid-april) and since I paid my money, now I'm even more committed. This week I'm up to running 4 miles. It wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be, though I certainly won't say it's anywhere near easy! Yesterday it was so nice I decided to run outside. For the first time in a long time my muscles felt really good so I just kept running longer than I meant to. I wasn't paying much attention and forgot to turn back before I got too tired. Yeah, did I mention it was almost all uphill going back? Let's just say my legs are really sore today!

Makayla has become a bike riding guru. She loves riding and is getting really good at it. She wanted me to post a video but the only one I have is from last week-she's way better now!

Kelli has also been riding her "pink princess bike". She's still trying to figure out how to pedal on her own. Luckily, our road has a slight slope to it so when she's headed downhill she does fine. Lately Kelli has taken up singing. Her favorite is "I Love to See the Temple". Sometimes she remembers a lot of the words, other times just a few phrases which she doesn't mind repeating.

I used to think Makayla and Kelli talked a lot. I think Laney is now becoming our biggest "talker". She doesn't know a whole lot of words, but she is always chattering. Her favorite thing to say lately is "HI!" several times in a row. Not so cute when that's all she wants to do during church. She often sounds like a little ewok-such a funny little voice. We don't understand most of what she says, but that doesn't slow her down much. Laney has also become fascinated with the fish tank. She often climbs onto the couch and just stares at all the fish. She loves pointing out where the fish are.

The other day Jacob was blowing bubbles with his gum and the girls were watching. Makayla and Kelli were laughing and giggling. Laney thought the first bubble was funny, but didn't like when the bubble popped and got on Jac's face. She just started crying and wanted him to stop right away!
