School's Out!

I finished school on May 20 and Makayla finished on May 22. To help Makayla celebrate, we decided to have a water party. We had been planning this for a few weeks, since her graduation, so we really weren't too surprised when it was pretty stormy the day of her party. Originally I told her she could just invite a few friends over because, well, several of her friends are really...loud, crazy, all over the place, out of control, etc, and I just don't do well with that. I'mnot sure exactly what all happened, but we ended up with 11 people there, not including my girls. They ranged in age from 10 down to 3, quite a gap. Several parents just figured it would be no big deal to send siblings along, I guess. Since it was the coldest day we've had in a while, we decided just to play games outside instead of swimming. It was a pretty crazy hour, but the kids all said they had fun so that's what counts. I meant to take pictures, but, well, it was just too hectic.

Makayla started playing T-ball this week. So far, this year is much better than last year. There are a lot fewer girls on the team so Makayla actually gets to touch the ball. So far her favorite place to play is 2nd base. I'm not sure why, she never gets the ball there, but she always asks to play it. Personally, I think she just enjoys talking to all the girls that come running around the bases.
