I can't believe my little girl is three now. Apparently this is a big deal to her, because all of the sudden she just started saying "I'm free now, so I'm not going to be a baby anymore. Now I'm a wittle ghoul." Since we were still in the process of moving, we decided to have a joint birthday party for Laney and her Uncle Joe. We invited all her cousins and their families that live in California and had a Strawberry Shortcake/Princess Party (good thing Uncle Joe is such a good sport-with 4 girls of his own, he says he's used to girly stuff). First we played games and then we got to break open a pinata. We have friends in Cedar City who always make their own pinatas and they turn out great so we decided to give it a try. Jacob made the box then I decorated it. It worked out great because even with so many kids, young and old, everyone got to hit it a lot of times! After the pinata Laney opened her presents. It was so fun to watch her open them because she was so delighted with each one. I had planned to remind her ahead of time to say thank you but I forgot. No worries, talk about a proud mama moment! She did it all on her own and let people know that she really did enjoy each present and was thankful for it. After the presents we had cake and ice cream then the kids went and played in the bounce house and the backyard. Judging from the giggles and laughter, they had a great time! As the kids were playing, the adults were talking and hanging out while we got a BBQ dinner ready. The day was so much fun!
Here is some info about Laney:
Favorite Food: Pizza and breadsticks
Favorite Movie: Strawberry Shortcake and Tom and Jerry
Favorite Book: All my library books and chapter books (to her, a chapter book is just any book that she puts a bookmark in so she can be like her sister Makayla).
Favorite Animal: Dog, which is Shadow (lately she loves saying "which is")
Favorite thing to do: play stuffed animals, pretend like she is someone's doggy
Laney's best friends are her sisters. She loves playing anything with them and always wants to follow them everywhere. Laney loves to have preschool at home with mom and Kelli. She is very good at her ABC's and counting. Laney loves any kinds of arts and crafts, especially cutting and gluing. Laney is usually very independent and can do many things! We are so happy Laney is in our family.
