Laney was so excited to have a birthday party when she turned 5! She had a month of school before she turned 5 so she was able to make lots of new friends to invite over to play. Laney had a bounce house/ hot tub/ pool party. I try to let the girls plan their own parties and just give them some direction when their plans get too over the top. However, Laney came up with all the ideas on her own. She even decided how she wanted her piñata to look and decided what food to eat (grapes and goldfish, and Rocky Road Brownies for dessert). The girls had a blast and the weather really cooperated with us. The girls kept running back and forth between the pool, hot tub, and bounce house. What a great day.
Funny thing about the pink princess chair Laney is sitting on. Makayla got the chair when she was like 3 and when she was 4 she happened to sit in it to open presents. Ever since then, it has become the birthday present chair. It's like the girls can't open presents unless they are sitting in it. I keep trying to get rid of the chair because they almost never use it. However, the girls always get mad and say I can't because they always use it....on birthdays. I guess it has sentimental ties or something.
