Kelli's 3!

On Tuesday Kelli turned 3 which means she was able to have her first real birthday party. Well, we always have our own parties before then, but by 3 the kids actually have an understanding of what birthdays are and want to invite friends over. Kelli knew just what she wanted to do for her party. She said she wanted a beach party and to play at the park so that's what we did. We were going to play games, but several of the kids she invited were younger than her and wouldn't really play. We figured most kids just love the park anyway, so that's what we did! We went to the little side of Discovery Park (the one made for younger kids with only one exit where Jacob stood guard) and actually had it mostly to ourselves. Kelli had lots of fun opening presents and loved them all! We also went out to eat at Del Taco so the girls could play in the little play area there. We had never been there before, but every time we drove to Wal-mart we passed it and the girls begged to eat there. Well, maybe it would be more accurate to say Jacob, Laney, and I ate there and Makayla and Kelli played there.

This wasn't a birthday present, just coincidence on the timing, but Kelli now has her own bedroom and thinks that is the greatest thing ever. We actually just had her trade rooms with Laney so sleeping arrangements would work out better. Kelli just doesn't seem to need near as much sleep as the other girls. She's always the first one up in the morning and would always wake Makayla up. When it was bedtime Makayla would be tired, but Kelli wouldn't and would kind of keep her awake. Makayla and Laney have more similiar sleeping patterns. Last night it worked out well, and this morning the girls slept in until 9:00, rather than their usual 7-7:30. This past week has been hard because we've been staying up late and if they don't sleep in they just get tired and cranky.
