Crazy days

Things have been busy here for a few weeks-so what's new? Two weeks ago the girls and I went to Elsinore to stay at my mom and dad's for a few days. Then Kelli, Laney, and I came home while Makayla got to stay "all by herself!" She had lots of fun at their house. I'm sure it had nothing to do with how much they spoil her. Or getting to go to the farm. Or just being with grandma and papa. Or just having sleepovers. We went back to my mom and dad's the next Tuesday, but this time Jacob came with us. My mom and sister were wonderful enough to watch the girls overnight so Jacob and I could celebrate our 9 year wedding anniversary. This was a first for us. Usually we don't really celebrate our anniversary on our anniversary because for at least the past 6 years we have had family reunions on that day. Guess that's what we get for getting married the day before a holiday! We finally came home on Thursday night. It's a lot of fun going places, but it's always nice to come back home. Makayla was sure that all of her friends had forgotten who she was, as well as her teachers and classmates at church (afterall, she was gone for a total of about 9 days). Luckily that wasn't the case. Kelli and Laney both were excited to have Makayla back home to play with. When Kayla was gone, Kelli kept wandering the house saying "la-la" (translation-Kayla). When she couldn't find Makayla, she often entertained herself by trying on all the swimsuits-at the same time. Yes, even Makayla's and Laney's swimsuits. I guess more is better. At one point I counted 7 (seven!) swimsuits on all at once. I was surprised she even fit into Laney's swimsuits. By the way, here she is showing her muscles.
Even though Laney is so young, she was still kind of looking for Makayla. Her face sure lit up the first time she saw her after being away. I'm afraid Laney is already becoming a monkey just like her sisters. She loves standing up in her crib and rattling the bars. If I lay down on the floor, she instantly thinks I'm a jungle gym and will climb over me again and again and again.
Speaking of people climbing on me, since we don't have a real horse, apparently I'm the next best thing. I must make a pretty good horse, because this is one of the girls' favorite things to do. They are happy when they get just a regular piggy back ride, but they especially love it if Jacob and I crawl around on our poor, old, achy hands and knees and pretend we are wild horses, trying to buck the girls off. They have great balance and are surprisingly strong.
Life is good!
