Today I took Makayla to school for her Kindergarten testing (by the way, she did a fabulous job). She doesn't officially start school for a week and a half (which is really disappointing to her) but since her friends are already in school, she says the summer is pretty much over.Makayla can't wait to ride the bus to school, though she said she is a little nervous about finding her classroom. Today her teacher assured us she would be waiting at the bus stop at the school for all the kids until they learn their way around the school.
By the way, potty training continues....so far, Kelli is doing GREAT, knock on wood! We are going out of town this weekend (again) so we'll see how things go. Kelli has gone 3 days in a row with no accidents and since I really started training her, she has only had 2 total. I think she likes going potty so much because Jacob made her a cool new stool for the bathroom that is extra tall so she can actually reach the light and sink by herself so we don't have to help her by holding her up. She is "Miss Independent" with everything, "I do it!", whether it be going potty, getting dressed, or well, anything! This is the first time she has been able to reach the bathroom sink by herself, so of course that means she has to wash her hands so long and so often I think the skin will fall off.
Laney is getting closer to walking-she still has a ways to go though. She walks along anything she can hold on to and has started standing up without holding on to anything-but only until she realizes she isn't holding anything and then she gets scared and immediately sits down.
Our summer has been busy and tons of fun, but for Makayla's sake, we are ready for it to be over. She has been waiting soooooo long for school....
