The Snowman

So far Kelli really isn't a big fan of Halloween. She's too little to remember trick or treating or anything else from last year. All she knows about Halloween so far is that there are scary things all over the place! Whenever we go to the store Makayla likes to hurry and push all the buttons on all the witches, ghosts, etc. Kelli covers her face, backs away, and says she's scared. Jacob and I have tried being right next to her when they "do their thing" and explain it and everything but it still scares her. She doesn't even want to look at simple little plastic pumpkins-not that we've forced the issue or anything. There is one thing that doesn't scare her and she really likes-snowmen. At first we couldn't figure out what she was talking about when she kept saying she wanted to play with the snowman. Then Makayla told us she was talking about our scarecrow. Several years ago we got a scarecrow that we put on our front porch. No matter how many times we tell her it is a scarecrow, she still calls it a snowman. Whenever we leave the house she says good bye to her friend, snowman and she always waves hello when we get home.
