Makayla was so excited to FINALLY turn 8. She thought it would never happen. Since Makayla's birthday is almost always Thanksgiving weekend, she usually has a family party on her birthday and a friend party either the week before or the week after. On Makayla's birthday I told her I wasn't going to make a cake for her. I was tired of cooking and refused to do it anymore. She was pretty bummed, until I said..."So if you want a cake you better make it yourself!" As you can tell by the pictures, she wasn't too fond of this idea, and she really didn't have much fun doing it-whatever! She loved it and did a fabulous job. Now I always have a volunteer whenever I am baking something.

The Cooper's came over for cake and icecream. Did she really think Uncle Jeremy wasn't serious when he said it should be a new tradition to smash birthday cake on her face? I don't think saying "You wouldn't dare do something like that" was the best choice of words.
We are so happy to have Makayla be a part of our family. She is a great example to all of us. Makayla is such a smart girl. Not just in school, but life in general. She is very observant and not much gets by her. Makayla tries to do what is right and is such a big help to me and Jacob. She is also very loved and looked up to by her younger sisters. We love you Makayla!
