At the end of June we went to the big Anderson Reunion that we have every other year. Jac's family was in charge of planning it this year and it was so much fun! Jacob's extended family lives mainly in California near us, in Utah, and in Idaho but most people requested we plan it by the ocean this year. We chose Newport Dunes to have it at and it was so neat. It's like this huge campground area in a bay just off of Newport Beach. We stayed in a cabin that opened up into a huge sand area that led right down to the water. The water was calm there without waves so it was kind of like being on a lake. We rented long boards and paddle boats and the girls had a blast playing in the water. There were also lots of incredible bike paths and trails so we all brought our bikes and explored. All the kids did lots of riding, especially while dinner was cooking. People brought golf carts and rode around in those and some surrey's that they rented (kind of a like a cross between golf cart and a bike, but could fit 4-10 people). At night the girls loved swimming in the swimming pool because it was so warm and they loved how the lights reflected off of everything. Since we were so close to the beach, we had to go there too, of course. The whole weekend was a lot of fun because we were around so much family. Not many of Jacob's immediate family was able to go, but he has some pretty cool cousins that have kids the same age as our girls and they just hit it off so well. Jacob and I also had a great time sitting around the campfire on the beach at night talking with all the grown-ups. What a fun family reunion.
