Christmas last year was a lot of fun for us. As a family we picked another family to do the 12 days of Christmas to. Not a surprise, but the girls picked Grandpa and Grandma Anderson. The girls had the best time trying to be super sneaky and not let them know who it was. We were able to keep it a secret almost the whole time, which was amazing considering how NOT super sneaky and quiet they were! It helped a lot that Grandpa was away at work or meetings for church when we did a lot of our deliveries. The fact that Grandma is very hard of hearing helped a lot too! I think we were about on about the 9th day and Jacob had just knocked on the door as Grandpa happened to be walking right past it to get a drink in the kitchen. Jacob dove under the stairs, but Grandpa thought he saw someone move outside by his plow truck. Thinking someone was breaking into the plow truck, he came outside and caught us all hiding. Luckily he can keep a secret! Grandma didn't find out until we delivered the final gift the Christmas Eve and told her. It was so hard for me going to their house to work several times a week while doing this and having to keep a straight face while she showed me all the "neat stuff they got from someone." I think we'll make this a new family tradition because it was so much fun!
One of the traditions we have is to open one gift on Christmas Eve. It's funny, but it's always PJ's, but only Makayla has caught on so far...
Here's the nice "bed-head" shots. Got to love them. Luckily I'm the one behind the camera....for good reason...
The girls claim their favorite gifts were these dolls. They have never really been into playing with dolls, even when they were little. However, they kept asking for some like this because they "would play with them all the time..." Well, they each got one, which they love a lot. The dolls lay on their beds during the day, thrown to the end of the bed at night, and probably get played with a few times a month. However, they are still some of the "most special toys" the girls have. I don't get it, but it makes them happy...
We had a great time being lazy and playing with all our new gifts on Christmas Day. Grandma and Grandpa Anderson came over and it was like opening gifts all over again the girls were so excited to show their things to Grandma. We are truly blessed...
