New Year's Party 2012

Jacob and I decided we wanted to do something different for New Year's.  We always have someone over, but it's usually family and they all tend to run out of gas by 9:30.  We end up just sitting around talking and it's kind of fun, but no different than other days.  Last year we decided to invite several friends over and have a game night.  Best. Party. Ever.!

We invited 3 other couples over who all had kids about the same ages as our kids:  the Weijland's, Allebes', and the Pratt's.  The kids did their own thing all night-playing air hockey, building forts, playing Wii, plus all their other crazy kid things they like to do.  The adults stayed upstairs and played games and snacked all night.  We had so much fun playing, we almost missed ringing in the New Year.  We discovered that we have some pretty competative friends.  Good thing we aren't competative...at all.  Ha Ha!  The kids came upstairs about 11:57 asking if if was time yet so we stopped our games long enough to do the countdown.  Then we kept playing....until about 2:45!  We weren't tired and all wanted to keep playing but we had 9:30 church the next day so figured we should call it a night.  We really need to have more game nights!
