I tried something new!

Last year when we decorated for Christmas I had Jacob take one of our couches downstairs to the family room so we would have more room for our Christmas tree. Then we realized how much more open our living room looked without the extra couch there so after Christmas we decided not to move the couch back upstairs (well, ok, it also probably had something to do with the recliners in the couch making it weigh a TON combined with the narrow stairs, plus Jacob's wimpy wife!). We looked around for a chair to put there but couldn't really find anything we liked. Then I found this:

Isn't she a beauty? Yeah, we didn't think so either. So I got to work and pulled the whole thing apart and started reupholstering it. Now it looks like this and we love it so much more!

Just ignore the barbie legs sticking out of the back. It looks a bit lopsided in this picture, but that's because it had been used as a dog pen (for my girls, not my dog) and they just threw the cushions back on when they were done. It's actually surprisingly straight and even. This was my first attempt at reupholstering anything and I have to say I had so much fun with it. I can't wait to try it again. I have lots of ideas and plans...if only they didn't cost money....
