Our funny girls

Everyone who knows my girls know that they all love to talk-all the time. They're always saying such funny things but I don't write them down and I usually forget them. This past week, however, they've been even more outspoken than usual. Here are a few things they've said.
Laney-well, I don't know if hers is funny or embarrassing. On Sunday Jacob helped pass the sacrament at church (we have a tiny ward and there was only one (1) young man at church Sunday). Jac also gave the opening prayer. As soon as Laney saw him walk up to say the prayer, she just started saying "Daddy" pretty loud. Then she just started rambling on fifty miles an hour like she was saying something to him. Everyone thought it was cute- I was trying to quiet her down while ducking in my seat (we always sit on the third or fourth row in the center so Jacob can hear better). Then Jacob was lucky enough to pass the sacrament to our section, starting it all over again. Everyone around me thought it was funny because she sounded so sure of what she was saying. She sounds like a little ewok and you can only pick out a few of the words that she says.
Kelli-She has learned how fun it can be to choose between things by the process of elimination. You know, the whole eeny-meeny-miney-mo thing. However, this is her version: "eeny-weeny-whiney-mo, catch a...uh...hum...kitty by the toe and don't ever never let go. My mom said to choose the best one and you are not it-I mean you are not it-I mean you are not it." Apparently she never likes the first choice of which is "not it" so she does the ending again but usually it ends up being the same one. After a few times she just picks the one she wants anyway.
Makayla-when she was younger, all her friends were girls, simply because that's pretty much all we had in our neighborhood! Since we've moved, there just aren't a whole lot of kids, but we did find out that a few houses down the road live some boys that are in our ward. One is just a few months older than Makayla and one is a year older than Kelli. The other day they came over to play when it was so nice outside and I decided I better prepare Makayla for it since she really hasn't had any boy friends over. I just pointed out that boys aren't really into Littlest Pet shop, my little ponies, stuffed animals, barbies, etc like girls are. They usually prefer transformers, cars, dinosaurs, legos, and such. Anyway, we were outside playing and when the kids got tired of playing on the swingset they were trying to decide what to play next. Makayla gets this really serious look on her face like she's thinking really hard. She folds her arms and casually says "so Macall.....do you like to wrestle?" At this point I realized she was just trying to be a good hostess and find something her guest would like to do. I thought I would see where this led and didn't say anything for a minute. Macall said "Wrestling! I love wrestling! I'm in wrestling right now so I'm really good at it. Let me teach you how to do it!" At this point they're standing about 6 feet away from each other and proceed to get in the "wrestling stance". I figured this was my cue to step in! I quickly told her wrestling might not be the best idea right then because the day before she totally ate it on her bike and scraped up her elbow and I was afraid it would get hurt. Luckily they didn't ask anything else about it and decided to catch bugs instead. Later we talked with Makayla about how it's really not good to wrestle except maybe with our little family. I'm just glad I didn't have to try to explain it to her while her friend was there....
