Gramma and Papa's house

Last Tuesday I asked the girls if they wanted to go for a drive. We started driving down the road and pretty soon I got on the freeway. Kelli and Laney were playing and not really paying attention, but Makayla immediately said "Hey, this is the way to Gramma's house. I wish we could go stay with her, but we didn't pack our bags." Little did she know, I had already done that and we were on our way to stay with them! By the time we hit Beaver I told Makayla we were going to gramma's house, but she assumed it was just a quick trip to say hi and turn around and come right home. As soon as we got there, I told her to look in the trunk. Boy did she jump up and down and scream when she found out we would be staying for a few days! We got to stay until Friday. Of course, the girls loved going to the barn. They loved playing with the kittens and seeing all the cows. Kelli even held one of the kittens, which was amazing because she is like terrified of cats and dogs now. When we got home, Kelli told me that she is a "real good farmer now". We had fun visiting with Rick and Tara and Tuff. Well, most of us had fun. Kelli just spent the whole time obsessing that Tuff was going to get her, or eat her shoe, or her foot, or her hand, etc. Mom and Dad were nice enough to watch the girls for me so I was still able to get some running in. We went to an Easter egg hunt in Walmart so the girls were excited about that. As we were getting ready to go into a store, I was letting both Kelli and Laney walk (I usually end up packing Laney because it's faster). I asked Kelli to hold someone's hand but she seemed to be ignoring me. I asked her again and she still didn't come closer to us to hold hands. Finally, I asked her to hold someone's hand one last time. She just looked at me and said "I is mom, I is holding my own hand." Sure enough, she had her hands clasped in front of her. I guess I need to be more specific next time. Here's some pictures of the girls at the farm. Makayla hardly put the kittens down. Kelli's pants were too big for her so they kept sagging a bit, but she loved wearing Morgan's boots so she could splash in the water. Laney loved running around outside looking at everything.

What a great surprise for the girls--you probably made their whole month!
