Kelli Turns 6!

Kelli had her 6th birthday just before she graduated from Kindergarten.  She decided she wanted to have a swimming party at Uncle Kenny's house in Phelan.  Katie, her cousin, also has a birthday on the same day, so they had a joint party.  It was a lot of fun!

Besides her cousins, Kelli really only wanted to invite her best friend, Kayla Barrera.  Those two were always together during kindergarten.  Kelli and Kayla stood out in their class too-both of them were at least a head shorter than everyone else their age.  They didn't ever let it bother them, they both just thought it was cool that they were different than everyone else except their best friend.

At first the girls had a good time just splashing around in the water and swimming from side to side.  Then they decided they needed to try the diving board.  Makayla knew how to swim (somehow she taught herself!) and even though her dives mostly consisted of cannon balls, she loved the diving board.  Kelli could kind of swim, so she had on a life jacket, but that didn't stop her from diving.  She did a few cannonballs but then moved on to gainers.  She is her Daddy's little girl!
