What a week!  This one was super busy and full of so many activities we had to rush from one thing to another. I'm so thankful for the busy-ness because it means we are blessed with so many opportunities!

Kelli had two soccer games this week.  She is playing in a coed league again.  I really like the co-ed leagues because it seems boys her age are more aggressive while playing than girls her age.  That's how Kelli likes it.  There's nothing like watching tiny little Kelli run down and stop boys that are much bigger than she is.  Kelli also attended an Orchestra Festival with her class at school.  They are graded on tons of things, including how they are dressed, how well they play, how hard their songs are, etc.  They scored a superior, the highest score they could get!

In addition to water polo, Makayla went to a Regional Band competition in St. George.  They also were judged on how they looked, how well they played, how hard their songs were, etc.  There ratings were a bit different than the orchestra one was, and Makayla wasn't sure what it was.  Either way, they still did a great job!  Makayla has been playing the trumpet since she was in fifth grade.  She is really good at it.

For Young Women's (and Young Men's so Jacob got to go also) this week we got to go to a Book of Mormon cave.  It was a really neat cave that a man built at his house.  First you go down in to a hole that looks like this:

and then it turns a corner and you go down a slide.  At the bottom it opens up and there is a room probably about 12x12 that totally reminds me of some kind of Indian Jones thing. 

It was really neat.  The guy told us lots of things about the symbolism and then we even got to watch a short movie in there.  What a fun experience!

On Monday Jacob went down to St. George to get an MRI on his foot.  It's been such a pain for him (literally) having to wait and try to find out what is going on.  Hopefully he will get some answers soon.  At the barber shop Jacob had an area that had like a false, drop down ceiling in one section.  Jacob has been working to get it taken down.  It is huge and really heavy so he had to get creative on how to get it down.  He finally used a wench and got it down.  Now time for repairs around that area so he can make it the way he wants it.  Jacob also lost a barber this week.  One guy who just started working for him had to quit because he had a lot of other personal stuff going on.  Now Jacob will need to find someone else because they are too busy for the two of them to handle it.

Laney had 2 softball games this week and they won both of them!  Laney was only able to pitch one inning, but she did a great job and nobody scored on her!  When she isn't pitching, Laney usually plays first base.  She does a great job paying attention and made several outs by herself and also caught the ball when her teammates threw it to her and made outs as well. 

She usually is good at being ready- this was just in between pitches!

Laney plays softball on top of a hill so it is always extra windy and cold there.  Jacob and I really have to bundle up when we watch her play.

Kelli, Laney, and I went to the last 4H dinner for this school year.  Once a month they have a dinner that all the families are invited to.  The food is yummy and it doesn't cost anything.  They always have a fun activity you can do as well. This time was supposed to be a BBQ and flying kites.  Since the wind was blowing 70 miles an hour, we moved it indoors (though one poor guy had to stay out in the wind to BBQ).  We got to bring home a kite to fly on our own as this crazy wind would have ripped it up!

We started a big project as a family this week-moving the dog pen.  In December, Jacob and I moved all the rock on the side of the house so there wouldn't be any in the pen.  Unfortunately, we just moved part of it further into the back corner because we weren't sure what all we wanted to do with it.  Guess where we decided to move the dog pen...where all that rock was!  Jacob worked on moving the actual fence and the girls and I moved a ton of rock.  We worked for hours but still never finished it.  We think they will really like the new place where there pen is, plus it is a much better layout for our yard-we have more room to park the trailer.  Now comes the tough part-waiting to see how the dumb things get out (because they are Houdini dogs and they always try to).  We really don't want to have to chain Roxie up in the this pen because there is a tree, a few bushes, and a big "Ariel" type rock in there so she would constantly be tangled up.  Hopefully we can figure something out to keep her in............!
