This has been a fun Spring Break Week for us! Although we've done lots of fun things to entertain ourselves, we've also had lots of time to just relax, take a breath, and do nothing!
Sunday was Easter...and April Fool's Day. We started out bright and early looking for eggs and Easter Baskets. Jacob and I were excited to see our baskets, but the girls-not so much. While we had lots of yummy candy, their baskets were filled with oranges, water bottles, toys that were already theirs, dog treats, and leashes. They did not find it amusing, especially
Laney. She was ticked off that the Easter Bunny had gypped her of getting some of her favorite candy. The girls started searching for eggs and then they found their real Easter baskets, full of candy.

Later on I made breakfast for everyone. Kelli wanted to help me, but only with one thing- making orange juice. Except, it wasn't orange juice. It was water with a cheese packet from Macaroni and Cheese mixed in. Jacob was the one to take the first BIG gulp. Let's just say it was so bad he was sick the rest of the day!
On Monday the girls and I went to Elsinore to see family. It was a quick trip and we had to come home on Tuesday night, but at least the girls also got to see their cousins. They always seem to have so much fun whenever they are together and always come up with interesting things to entertain themselves. Makayla drove around the farm just a little bit-and we survived!
On the way home we had to stop in Beaver at the Cheese Factory for squeaky cheese (of course) and decided to try some yummy ice cream as well.
I got to go back to the dentist and have my permanent crown put on. I survived, it didn't hurt, and I didn't have to get it numbed! Win! I also spent a lot of my break playing softball with Laney, playing games with Kelli, and just hanging out and talking to Makayla. I spent a few days deep cleaning the trailer so it would be all ready when we want to go camping.
Jacob didn't have the fun, relaxing week that we did. He didn't get a spring break. On a happy note, he finished remodeling the house and got the renters all moved in! What a relief to have that done. Jacob also had a record week at the salon, the busiest they have ever been-even though they were down a barber that week. After work on Saturday, Jacob and I worked on trimming our billion trees and bushes at our house so we could put the trash on the street for the city clean up. We discovered we are both fairly allergic to juniper bushes (I couldn't stop sneezing and we both broke out in hives). In the middle of it all we got caught in a downpour. At least we got it done. Jacob finished the week off by smashing his pinky finger. It's nice, black and purple and tender. No fun!
Laney was a big help in cleaning the trailer this week. She spent a lot of time checking every single thing out to see how it worked. It was fun having her entertain me and made the time speed right by. Laney wants to try pitching in softball so we spent a lot of time practicing that. She's a champ, but determined to do it!

Kelli spent a lot of the week playing with the puppies and practicing agility training with them. I'm not sure who likes it more, the puppies or the girls. As long as everyone is happy, that's what counts! Kelli liked spoiling the puppies and giving them extra attention and loves during the week. She loves playing games and I got to play several with her. Watch out though, she's pretty good!
Makayla had water polo practice but still found time to be lazy and relax. She watched several movies with Jacob, including Justice League and Thor 2. They both like those kinds of movies, but the rest of us don't much care for them. At least they have each other to watch them with. Makayla also spent lots of time spoiling the dogs and even gave them extra long baths (I guess it's spoiling for Roxie who likes baths, but torture for Bear who doesn't like them?).
The weather was so beautiful this week. Hot enough you crave being in the sun, but not too hot you can't stand to be in it. Kelli and Laney played in sprinklers with the puppies several times. The girls all decided to give the puppies peanut butter for the first time. According to them, it was "epic".
Now it's back to the grind for us. Luckily only 6 1/2 more weeks until school is out for Summer Vacation!!!!
